Great Barrington Land Conservancy


Our Mission: Great Barrington Land Conservancy is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit dedicated to the preservation of the community’s natural resources and distinctive character. Through promotion and fund-raising endeavors, GBLC enables the dedication of open space to agricultural, recreational, and scenic purposes through acquisitions, conservation easements, and agricultural preservation restrictions.
In 2007 Alliance for a Healthy Great Barrington partnered with Great Barrington Land Conservancy to launch the Great Barrington Trails and Greenways Project with support from the National Park Service: Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program GBLC is the umbrella organziation for a number of local projects:
- Great Barrington River Walk
- Lake Mansfield Alliance
- Friends of the Du Bois Homesite
- Peter Berle Wildlife Conservation Area
- Lake Mansfield Conservation Forest Trails Project
